Overview

The Panduit FCE1UA is an open-bay, 1U rack mount fiber enclosure designed for high-density structured cabling installations. It provides a protected environment for fiber optic terminations and splices, facilitating efficient cable management within data centers and telecommunications rooms. This unit supports up to 144 fibers using standard fiber adapter panels, making it suitable for backbone and horizontal cabling runs where space is at a premium. The FCE1UA model specifically offers an open configuration, allowing for flexible integration with existing rack infrastructure and direct access to fiber connections.

Compatibility

This enclosure is designed to work with standard 19-inch racks and cabinets. It accepts Panduit fiber optic adapter panels (sold separately) which support a wide range of connector types including LC, SC, ST, and MTP/MPO. The open-bay design ensures compatibility with various fiber optic cable types and sizes, provided they can be managed within the enclosure's capacity and the rack's depth. It is intended for use in structured cabling systems where high fiber counts are required, such as enterprise data centers, campus networks, and telecommunications facilities.

Installation Notes

The FCE1UA requires standard rack mounting hardware (not included) for installation into a 19-inch rack. It is designed for front-loading of fiber adapter panels, simplifying the termination and patching process. Cable entry and management points are provided to ensure proper bend radius is maintained for fiber optic cables, critical for signal integrity and long-term performance. Ensure adequate clearance in front of the rack for access to the enclosure and patch cords.
