Middle Atlantic KB-SS Rack-Mount Pull-Out Keyboard Tray

Overview

The Middle Atlantic KB-SS is a 1U steel pull-out keyboard tray designed for rack-mounted workstations in security control rooms, NOCs, and AV equipment bays. The KB-SS occupies a single rack unit (1.75 in / 44.5 mm) and extends to accommodate a full-size keyboard in front of rack-mounted servers or DVR/NVR consoles — keeping the keyboard stowed when not in use and eliminating the need for a separate desk surface. Keyboard is not included. The tray ships in a black steel finish that matches standard Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and open-frame racks.

Compatibility

The KB-SS fits any standard 19-inch EIA rack with a usable mounting depth between 17 in (43.2 cm) and 25 in (63.5 cm) — covering the majority of Middle Atlantic ERK, WMRK, BGR, and LD series enclosures, as well as third-party 19-inch two-post and four-post frames within that depth range. The 4-point rack-ear mounting pattern is standard EIA-310, so it seats in any compliant rack without adapter plates. The 17 in tray depth is suitable for standard 104-key and tenkeyless keyboards; verify your keyboard's depth does not exceed 17 in before ordering. For shallow-depth wall-mount enclosures under 17 in, this tray will not fit — check Middle Atlantic's compact accessory line for shallower options.

Installation Notes

Mount using the four rack-ear holes to standard 10-32 or 12-24 rack screws (not included — source cage nuts and screws to match your rack's thread standard). The slide mechanism adjusts pull-out travel within the 17–25 in depth envelope; set the stop position to match your rack's available clearance before securing the tray. Width is exactly 19 in (48.3 cm) — verify your rack's usable panel width clears any cable managers or vertical PDUs installed in the same bay before mounting.
