Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8714SX340 Locking C19 to C20 Power Cord

Overview

The APC by Schneider Electric AP8714SX340 is a 1.2-meter (4ft) locking power cord designed to secure the connection between a PDU (Power Distribution Unit) and a piece of equipment. Its distinct red color aids in quick identification and management within dense server racks or data center environments. This cord is rated for 16A, ensuring it can handle the power requirements of most enterprise-grade IT hardware, preventing accidental disconnections that could lead to downtime.

Compatibility

This power cord is built with IEC 60320 C19 (female) and C20 (male) connectors. The C19 coupler connects to devices requiring higher current draw, while the C20 plug interfaces with the power source, typically a PDU outlet. It is designed for use with APC Smart-UPS, Symmetra, and other equipment featuring C20 inlets, as well as PDUs with C19 outlets. The locking mechanism ensures a secure fit, preventing the cord from pulling out of either the device or the PDU.

Installation Notes

The straight C19 and C20 connectors facilitate straightforward installation in standard rack-mount configurations. Operating temperature range is 0 to 75°C, and storage temperature is -25 to 75°C. Relative humidity for operation and storage should be between 20% and 80%, non-condensing. The 16A rating means it should be paired with power sources and devices that do not exceed this current limit to prevent overheating or damage.
