Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8714R Locking Power Cord

Overview

The APC by Schneider Electric AP8714R is a 1.22-meter locking power cord designed to prevent accidental disconnection of critical IT equipment. It features a C20 inlet and a C19 outlet, commonly found on higher-power devices like PDUs, servers, and workstations. The locking mechanism ensures a secure connection, vital for maintaining uptime in data centers and network closets. Its 90-degree C20 connector is useful for managing cable density in tight rack spaces.

Compatibility

This cord is designed to connect devices with an IEC C19 power input to a standard IEC C20 power distribution unit (PDU) or mains socket. It is suitable for use with APC Smart-UPS, Symmetra, and other equipment requiring a C19 connector. The C20 plug mates with standard C19 receptacles on PDUs and UPS systems. Verify your equipment's power input connector is IEC-320 C19 and the power source connector is IEC-320 C20.

Installation Notes

The operating temperature range is 0 to 75°C (32 to 167°F), suitable for most standard rack environments. Storage temperatures can range from -25 to 75°C (-13 to 167°F). The cable operates at altitudes up to 3000 meters (9842 ft). The physical dimensions are 1651mm in length (including connectors), 70mm in width, and 300mm in depth, which accounts for the 90-degree orientation of the C20 plug.
