Description

Posiflex PD2600S Pole Display 2x20 VFD

Overview

The Posiflex PD2600S is a 2-line by 20-character VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) pole mount designed for point-of-sale and transaction environments where operators need real-time status or transaction data visible from a fixed position. The 9mm character height ensures legibility from typical retail counter distances without consuming significant counter real estate. Serial connectivity keeps integration straightforward on legacy POS systems and modern terminals alike.

Compatibility

The PD2600S connects via serial port (RS-232), making it compatible with POS systems, cash registers, payment terminals, and transaction controllers that support standard serial output. Verify your host system has an available serial port or requires a USB-to-serial adapter for newer equipment. The 300mm pole and stand fixture accommodates typical checkout counter mounting heights and spacing common in retail, quick-service restaurant (QSR), and hospitality environments.

Installation Notes

Mount the pole stand to your counter or workspace using the included base — ensure the surface is stable and level to prevent display tilt. Route the serial cable to your POS terminal or payment device, keeping cable length reasonable to avoid signal degradation on older serial runs (typically under 50 feet without a booster). Plug the power adaptor into a grounded outlet near the mounting location. Configure serial baud rate and data format in your POS software (typically 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity as a starting point — consult your POS documentation for exact settings). Test character display with a simple test string before relying on live transaction output.
