Description

Middle Atlantic PFD-35 35U Plexi Front Door for DWR and EWR Series Racks

Overview

The PFD-35 is a 35-space plexi front door designed for Middle Atlantic DWR and EWR series open-frame racks. At 62.1 inches tall and 1.4 inches deep, it adds a transparent physical barrier to an otherwise open rack front — letting technicians visually confirm indicator lights, port status, and panel labels without opening the door. That's the practical case for plexi over solid steel: you get physical access control without losing line-of-sight to equipment status. The textured black powder coat finish integrates cleanly with standard rack enclosure deployments in AV equipment rooms, server closets, and security head-end rooms.

Compatibility

The PFD-35 fits exclusively the 35 RU configuration of the Middle Atlantic DWR series (wood rack) and EWR series (open-frame rack) — verify your rack is exactly 35U before ordering, as Middle Atlantic front doors are RU-specific and will not fit adjacent sizes. If you are running a different rack unit count in the same DWR or EWR family, Middle Atlantic's PFD series covers other depths — match the numeric suffix to your rack's RU count. This door does not fit WRK, BGR, WMRK, or other Middle Atlantic rack lines; consult the rack's documentation to confirm series compatibility before purchase.

Installation Notes

The PFD-35 ships with integrated handles for daily access. At 1.4 inches of added depth, confirm your equipment room or wall-mount clearance accounts for the door swing radius before installation. The door attaches to the existing DWR/EWR rack frame — no additional rack rails or panels are required. Finish is textured black powder coat, matching standard Middle Atlantic rack aesthetics.
