Overview
The Geovision 88-SN8EBD47-2TB bundles the GV-SNVR0812 standalone network video recorder with 2TB of internal storage and preconfiguration for six Geovision IP PTZ or fixed cameras. This unit records directly to its internal drive and eliminates the need for an external PoE switch by integrating PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) ports on the back panel—both power and network travel the same cable to each camera, reducing installation time and clutter. Each port delivers up to 30W, sufficient for most 5MP fixed domes (6–12W typical) and low-power PTZ heads. This package targets retail storefronts, office corridors, and light industrial facilities where you need an all-in-one 8-channel appliance without separate rack equipment.
Compatibility
The GV-SNVR0812 accepts any ONVIF-compliant IP camera, but this 88-SN8EBD47-2TB package is preconfigured for Geovision EBD47-series PTZ and fixed cameras. Verify power budget before assignment—heated or high-resolution outdoor cameras may exceed the 30W per-port ceiling and require external PoE injection or a larger power supply. Integration with third-party VMS (Milestone, Axis Camera Station, generic ONVIF clients) is supported. The recorder mounts on-shelf or wall-mounted in a cabinet.
Storage and Recording
The 2TB internal drive handles approximately 90–150 hours of 1080p or 30–50 hours of 5MP continuous recording depending on codec selection and frame rate. If you need 24/7 retention beyond 30 days across all eight channels, plan for external NAS storage or cloud offload—internal 2TB capacity will saturate quickly with high-resolution multicamera feeds. Larger internal drive variants are available as separate SKUs.
Installation Notes
Connect cameras via standard Cat5e or Cat6 to the PoE+ RJ45 ports on the rear panel—no additional power adapters needed per camera. The unit draws standard office AC power; confirm voltage and frequency at your site. Test per-port current draw under load to avoid exceeding the 802.3at power budget if deploying multiple high-wattage cameras.
