Description

Middle Atlantic AUO22PT2G1SLG ORI Plateau 2 Acoustic Ceiling Tile

Overview

The AUO22PT2G1SLG is a 2' x 2' acoustic ceiling tile from Middle Atlantic's ORI line, finished in Silver Gray and built for commercial AV and security infrastructure spaces where acoustic treatment and clean aesthetics need to coexist with equipment access. The Plateau 2 profile — standing 2 inches proud of the ceiling plane — provides the depth needed to conceal above-ceiling cable runs or low-profile hardware without requiring a full drop-ceiling overhaul. Constructed from 100% polyester PET felt, it absorbs mid- and high-frequency sound energy, reducing room reverberation in control rooms, network operations centers, and conference environments where intelligibility matters. The Middle Atlantic ORI system is designed around the idea that acoustic tiles and equipment infrastructure can share the same ceiling grid — this tile is the field-fill component that completes that installation.

Compatibility

Fits standard 15/16-inch exposed-tee lay-in ceiling grid systems — the most common commercial grid type. The 2' x 2' (60.33 x 60.33 cm) footprint is interchangeable with standard 2x2 ceiling tiles, so it drops into any existing T-bar grid without grid modification. Designed to pair with other Middle Atlantic ORI series components, including ORI equipment modules and ORI access panels, allowing mixed-use ceiling bays where one tile houses gear and adjacent tiles (like this one) handle acoustic fill. Not compatible with 9/16-inch slim-profile grid or 1-inch grid systems — verify your grid bar width before ordering.

Installation Notes

Standard lay-in installation — no tools required. Set the tile into the grid opening with the Plateau 2 profile facing down into the room. The 2-inch profile depth means the tile face sits 2 inches below the grid plane; confirm this doesn't conflict with adjacent light fixtures or HVAC registers at the grid boundary. PET felt construction makes the tile lightweight and cuttable with a utility knife for field trimming around obstructions.
