Overview
The RBE972S-100NAS is a two-node WiFi 7 mesh system bundled with one year of NETGEAR Armor security service. This kit addresses enterprise and high-performance residential deployments where distributed wireless coverage and built-in threat protection matter in the same package. The two-pack configuration covers typical 3,000–4,500 sq ft spaces without requiring wired backhaul, though Ethernet backhaul is supported for higher throughput stability. The included 1-year Armor subscription adds real-time malware detection and IoT device monitoring across the mesh network.
Compatibility
The RBE972S-100NAS nodes communicate via WiFi 7 (802.11be) standard protocol. Compatible devices include any WiFi 6E, WiFi 6, WiFi 5, or older client hardware — backward compatibility is universal. Wired integration uses standard Gigabit Ethernet ports on each node, connecting to existing PoE switches, firewalls, or access points without vendor lock-in. The Armor security service functions across all connected devices sharing the network, regardless of OS or client type.
Installation Notes
Each node requires standard 120V AC power (wall outlet or power strip) — no PoE injection needed. Nodes should be placed 30–50 feet apart for optimal coverage; obstruction by metal or masonry reduces range by approximately 30 percent. Ethernet backhaul cable runs between nodes are optional but recommended for latency-sensitive applications. Initial setup uses the NETGEAR app for mobile provisioning or web GUI at 192.168.1.1. Factory-new units arrive with current firmware; check NETGEAR support site for any post-purchase updates before deployment.
