Overview
The RBE770-100NAS is a WiFi 7 satellite unit designed to extend coverage in commercial and enterprise mesh deployments using the NETGEAR ORBI7 system. This satellite pairs with ORBI7 router or additional satellites to fill dead zones in multi-story office buildings, warehouses, or hospitality environments where consistent backhaul and client coverage are critical. WiFi 7 (802.11be) delivers higher throughput and lower latency than WiFi 6, reducing congestion on shared enterprise networks — a meaningful improvement when you're managing dozens of connected IoT devices, access points, or mobile workstations across a single site.
Compatibility
The RBE770-100NAS satellite is compatible with the NETGEAR ORBI7 system and other ORBI7 TB units (routers and satellites). It does not work with earlier ORBI models (ORBI6, ORBI6E, ORBI6E XT) — confirm your existing ORBI7 router or satellite firmware before ordering to ensure mesh pairing. For mixed-brand mesh environments or legacy WiFi 6 infrastructure, this satellite is not a retrofit option.
Installation Notes
Position the satellite within 30 feet of an existing ORBI7 router or satellite for reliable backhaul establishment. Avoid metal enclosures, dense server racks, or areas with dense concrete walls that degrade WiFi 7 signal penetration. Use the NETGEAR Orbi app for mesh pairing and channel assignment — manual configuration is not required but channel optimization may improve throughput in high-density office floors. Mount on a shelf, wall bracket, or pole at least 3 feet above floor level to maximize coverage distribution. Do not place directly behind large metal objects or within microwave ovens.
