Description

Panduit FC29N-24-LAAF Fiber Cassette

Overview

The Panduit FC29N-24-LAAF Opticom™ cassette is designed for high-density fiber optic deployments, providing a clean interface between MPO trunk cables and LC duplex patch cords. This unit facilitates structured cabling within network racks and enclosures, specifically for OS2 single-mode fiber applications requiring standard insertion loss. It's engineered to manage 24 fibers, terminating two MPO-12 male connectors on one side and twelve LC duplex connectors on the other, utilizing Method A modified, inverted pair configuration for efficient patching. This cassette is a key component for data center and enterprise network backbones where fiber density and performance are critical.

Compatibility

This Panduit Opticom™ cassette is compatible with Panduit's Opticom™ fiber optic enclosures and patch panels designed to accept MPO/MTP style cassettes. It is intended for use with OS2 single-mode fiber optic systems. The MPO-12 male connectors require a corresponding female MPO connector on the trunk cable, and the LC duplex connectors are standard for patch cord connections in enterprise networks. Ensure your enclosure or panel system supports this specific cassette form factor and MPO connectivity.

Installation Notes

The FC29N-24-LAAF cassette features a polycarbonate construction for durability. It is designed for tool-less insertion into compatible Panduit fiber optic enclosures. The specific 'Method A modified, inverted pair' configuration ensures correct polarity management for duplex connections. When mating MPO connectors, ensure the trunk cable is also configured for inverted pair (female connector) to maintain proper signal path. Standard insertion loss specifications mean it meets typical enterprise network performance requirements without excessive signal degradation.
