Description

Panduit FW2RLU1U1ONM022 OM5 Fiber Optic Patch Cable

Overview

The Panduit FW2RLU1U1ONM022 is a 22-meter (72.2 ft) OM5 wideband multimode fiber optic patch cable designed for high-density data center and telecommunications room deployments. Its uniboot construction simplifies cable management by consolidating two fibers into a single duplex connector, reducing bundle size and improving airflow. This cable provides the infrastructure for rapid deployment of pre-terminated fiber solutions, supporting applications demanding high bandwidth and low latency.

Compatibility

This cable utilizes standard LC Duplex connectors, ensuring compatibility with any network equipment, patch panels, or transceivers equipped with corresponding LC ports. The OM5 fiber type is backward compatible with OM3 and OM4 but is specifically engineered to support Short Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) applications, making it suitable for 40GbE and 100GbE links using SWDM transceivers. It meets TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B standards for reliable performance in enterprise and carrier networks.

Installation Notes

The LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket material minimizes the release of toxic fumes and smoke in the event of a fire, making it suitable for installation in plenum spaces or environments with strict safety regulations. The uniboot design requires careful handling to ensure proper polarity is maintained during connection. Ensure that the equipment or patch panels being connected are rated for OM5 fiber performance to achieve optimal data rates.
