Description

Panduit FW2ERQ1Q1SNM045 OM5 Fiber Optic Patch Cable

Overview

The Panduit FW2ERQ1Q1SNM045 is a 45-meter (147.6 ft) OM5 wideband multimode fiber optic patch cable. It features LC duplex connectors on both ends and is rated OFNR for riser installations. This cable is designed for high-speed data transmission in environments like data centers, telecommunications rooms, and equipment distribution areas where rapid, pre-terminated fiber infrastructure is essential for quick deployment and reduced installation time. The OM5 fiber supports wavelengths from 850nm to 953nm, enabling applications such as Short Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) and providing future-proofing for higher bandwidth needs.

Compatibility

This cable is designed for use with standard LC duplex ports found in network switches, servers, transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP+), and patch panels. It meets TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B standards, ensuring broad compatibility with compliant networking equipment. The OM5 fiber type is backward compatible with OM3 and OM4 multimode fiber infrastructure but offers enhanced performance for applications requiring higher bandwidth and longer reach over multimode fiber, particularly with SWDM transceivers.

Installation Notes

The cable jacket is OFNR (Riser) rated, suitable for vertical runs within a building but not for use in plenums or air-handling spaces. Maintain a minimum bend radius of 1.6 inches (40mm) for the 1.6mm jacketed cable to prevent signal degradation or damage. Ensure connectors are kept clean and free of debris before mating to guarantee optimal performance and longevity.
