Overview

The Panduit FW2RLU1U1ONM018 is an 18-meter (59.1 ft) OM5 wideband multimode fiber patch cord from the QuickNet™ pre-terminated assembly line. It ships factory-terminated with LC duplex connectors on both ends in a uniboot configuration, solving the core deployment problem in structured cabling: the time cost and quality risk of field termination. Pull it from the box, route it, and connect — no polishing, no testing field splices. Designed to TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B, it fits directly into data centers, telecommunications rooms, entrance facilities, and equipment distribution areas where standards compliance is a hard requirement for system acceptance.

OM5 wideband multimode (50/125µm) fiber supports short-wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) and parallel optics over the 850–953nm range — meaning this cable is forward-compatible with 40GbE and 100GbE applications over OM5-capable transceivers, while remaining fully backward-compatible with existing OM3/OM4 infrastructure and optics. Confirm your transceiver supports 50/125µm OM5 wideband multimode before specifying — some legacy OM1/OM2 optics are not compatible. Installation Notes

The uniboot design consolidates two fibers into a single round jacket, halving the bundle diameter compared to standard duplex cordage — a meaningful difference in high-density cable management trays and patch fields where airflow and bend radius compliance matter. Maintain minimum bend radius per TIA-568.3-D to avoid insertion loss degradation. LSZH compounds are less flexible than PVC in cold environments; handle above 0°C during installation. PC (physical contact) polish on the connectors delivers typical insertion loss under 0.3 dB and return loss greater than 40 dB — sufficient for all standard multimode link budgets but not appropriate where UPC or APC performance is required.
