The Panduit FZ2RPU1U1ONM011 is a 36-foot OM4 multimode fiber patch cord engineered for high-density data center and telecom room deployments. Built on Panduit's Opti-Core platform, this plenum-rated cable features duplex LC uniboot connectors at both ends, delivering space-saving duplex connectivity in a single-boot form factor. The aqua jacket identifies it instantly as OM4, and the pull-tab boot design simplifies moves, adds, and changes in congested patch panels where finger access is limited. Optimized insertion loss and compliance with TIA-568-C.3 make it a reliable choice for 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR4 links up to 150 meters, as well as 10G runs extending to 550 meters over 50μm laser-optimized multimode fiber.
Panduit's Opti-Core OM4 patch cords use 50-micron laser-optimized fiber with an effective modal bandwidth of 4700 MHz·km at 850nm, the frequency window used by short-reach 40G and 100G transceivers. Insertion loss is factory-optimized and tested to ensure every cord ships with headroom below the 0.75dB channel budget typically allocated to connectors in TIA-568-C.3 permanent links. The uniboot connector consolidates the two fibers of a duplex link into a single pull-tab housing, cutting patch-panel real estate in half and improving airflow in the front of the rack. The boot's pull-tab extends beyond the connector body, letting you extract the cord from a fully populated panel without needle-nose pliers or risking damage to adjacent connectors. In a 1U 96-fiber cassette, that translates to 48 duplex LC uniboot ports instead of 48 traditional duplex LC ports that would require two side-by-side connectors per circuit—a density gain that matters when you're trying to land four 24-port switches in a single 42U rack.
The OFNP plenum jacket is required by NEC Article 770.113 for cables installed in ducts, plenums, and other spaces used for environmental air without conduit. In a typical office or data center build-out, that means above drop ceilings, below raised floors, and in vertical riser shafts where HVAC return air flows. The aqua color follows the TIA-598-D color code for OM4, making it easy to distinguish from OM3 (aqua with different labeling), OS2 singlemode (yellow), and OM5 (lime green) at a glance during adds and changes. At 36 feet, this cord length is well-suited for telecommunications room cross-connects—connecting a floor switch in rack A to a backbone cassette in rack C across a 12-foot aisle, with slack for vertical rise and service loop. It's also a common length for entrance-facility links between carrier demarc equipment and customer premise routers, or for desktop-to-telecom-room horizontal runs in open-office environments where fiber-to-the-desk is specified.
This patch cord ships ready to interconnect Panduit FAP cassettes, FMT adapter panels, and any standards-compliant LC duplex infrastructure from other vendors. The duplex LC interface is defined by TIA-604-10 (FOCIS-10) and is the dominant connector type in enterprise networks, ensuring compatibility with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Dell, and HPE switch optics. Every cord is RoHS-compliant per Directive 2002/95/EC and meets ISO/IEC 11801 Ed. 2.2 and TIA/EIA-568-C.3 performance requirements, which specify maximum insertion loss of 0.75dB and return loss of -20dB for multimode connectors. Panduit backs the Opti-Core line with lot-tested insertion-loss data and geometry reports traceable to NIST standards, giving AEC-firm specifiers and datacenter operators the documentation needed to close out commissioning and satisfy LEED EA Credit 1 structured cabling prerequisites.
