The PioneerPOS 42B-R22000 is a 1-2 track magnetic stripe reader (MSR) with serial interface output, designed for integration into the 12-inch Stealth form factor. This accessory reads magnetic card data at the point of transaction or access control event and transmits the decoded track information over serial protocol — essential when your POS or access system requires card authentication without relying on network-dependent readers.
Compatibility
Compatible with PioneerPOS 12-inch Stealth terminals and systems configured to accept serial MSR input. Verify your host terminal firmware supports serial MSR integration before installation; not all PioneerPOS models accept external serial readers.
Installation Notes
Connect via serial cable (typically DB-9 or RS-232) to the designated serial port on your Stealth unit. Ensure the host terminal is configured to poll or listen on the assigned serial port. Test card reads on both track 1 and track 2 data paths after connection — track 2 (commonly used in retail and hospitality) should return clean cardholder name and account data. If reads fail or appear truncated, verify serial baud rate and parity settings match terminal firmware defaults (commonly 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity).
