Overview
The CAB-SAS20M-8088 is a 2.0-meter (2000mm) Mini SAS cable terminated with SFF-8088 connectors on both ends. Built for extending QNAP expansion enclosures to compatible NAS heads, it delivers a 6Gb/s SAS signal path over 28AWG wiring — enough bandwidth headroom to keep multi-drive RAID arrays from bottlenecking at the interconnect. The 2.0m run gives you rack flexibility without resorting to active repeater hardware.
Compatibility
Designed for use with QNAP expansion and storage systems that expose SFF-8088 ports, including the QNAP expansion enclosure lineup such as REXP-1220U-RP, REXP-1620U-RP, SAS-12G2E, ES1640dc v2, and EJ1600. Verify the host-side port on your NAS or storage head is SFF-8088 before ordering — QNAP also offers SFF-8644-to-SFF-8088 variants for mixed-connector configurations. Installation Notes
Route the 2.0m length to avoid sharp bends that can stress 28AWG conductors — maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the connector housing. Both SFF-8088 connectors are friction-latch style; seat firmly until the latch clicks. For rack deployments, cable-manage the run to prevent pull tension on the host port. No tools required beyond standard cable management hardware.
