Description

Middle Atlantic FWD-LT-UTL-35-40-D Forward Utility Lighting with Dim Sensor

Overview

The FWD-LT-UTL-35-40-D is a forward-facing rack utility lighting fixture with an integrated dimming sensor, sized for 35–40U dual-rack configurations. At 63.5 inches tall and spanning 23 inches wide, it mounts flush in the rack column and delivers consistent front-of-rack illumination — directly useful in dimly lit server rooms, AV equipment closets, and security head-end enclosures where technicians need to trace cabling, read port labels, or swap gear without a flashlight. The depth of 1.46 inches keeps it from interfering with front-panel access on installed equipment.

Compatibility

Designed for Middle Atlantic rack systems in the 35–40U height range, dual-bay configuration. Fits within the Forward (FWD) series rack line, making it a direct fit alongside other rack accessories in that product family. The 37 RU form factor accommodates standard equipment loading across the full cabinet height. Mounting hardware is included, so no additional fastener sourcing is required for standard installation in compatible Middle Atlantic enclosures. If your rack falls outside the 35–40U span, verify unit count and bay width before ordering — Middle Atlantic offers alternative utility lighting models sized for other rack heights in their rack enclosures line.

Installation Notes

Product weight is 18 lbs (8.2 kg); plan for two-person handling during installation to avoid rack stress and cabinet tipping — especially relevant during initial enclosure build-out. Mounting hardware is included. The integrated dim sensor adjusts output based on ambient light, reducing unnecessary brightness in attended spaces without manual adjustment. The UPC installation time-saver designation indicates this unit is pre-configured for efficient field deployment as part of a rack cabinet build. Finished in black and silver to match standard Middle Atlantic enclosure aesthetics.
