The Middle Atlantic MFR-1227GC is a 12-space (12 RU) mobile furniture rack finished in grained dark cherry melamine with a plexi door — built for boardrooms, classrooms, and presentation environments where AV or security equipment needs to look like furniture, not a data center cart. At 27.37 in. total depth (23.19 in. usable) and 22.63 in. wide, the MFR-1227GC fits standard 19-in. rack-mount gear on 10-32 threaded rails with a UL-rated 250 lb load capacity, so you can fully populate all 12U without worrying about the structure. The 3-in. casters make it a roll-in/roll-out solution for multi-room AV deployments or temporary installs. Monitor mounting is supported, keeping the footprint contained when a display is part of the stack.

Compatibility

Fits any standard 19-in. rack-mount equipment on 10-32 threaded rails — including Middle Atlantic rack shelves, blanks, and power strips. With 23.19 in. of usable depth and 21.16 in. of usable height across 12U, it accommodates shallow AV gear, network video recorders, patch panels, and other standard 1U–4U rack-mount units. Not suited for deep server chassis or high-density switching equipment that exceeds the 23.19 in. usable depth or the 250 lb load limit. The plexi door allows IR remote pass-through and visual equipment status checks without opening the enclosure.

Installation Notes

Total unit weight ships at 98 lbs — plan for a two-person lift or a pallet jack for upper-floor installs. Casters are 3 in.; confirm doorway clearances (unit stands 26.95 in. tall, 22.63 in. wide) before routing through finished spaces. The 10-32 rail system requires 10-32 rack screws (not included in standard AV rack hardware kits that ship M6 — verify your fastener set before install). Wood melamine construction is interior-only; do not deploy in high-humidity or outdoor-adjacent spaces.
