CyberPower MBP30A5 Maintenance Bypass PDU

Overview

The CyberPower MBP30A5 is a 1U rackmount maintenance bypass PDU designed to provide seamless power transfer between a UPS and utility power without system downtime. This unit is critical for environments requiring continuous operation, such as data centers, server rooms, or critical IT infrastructure where UPS maintenance or replacement is necessary. The MBP30A5 allows you to isolate the UPS from the power load, enabling servicing or hot-swapping of the UPS unit while keeping connected equipment powered. It features five NEMA 5-20R outlets on the rear, a 6 ft utility power cord, and a 3.3 ft UPS cord, all housed in a durable metal chassis.

Compatibility

This maintenance bypass PDU is designed for use with CyberPower UPS systems and other UPS units that provide a NEMA L5-30P input connection. It supports a 30A input capacity, derated to 24A for continuous operation, and delivers 100-120 VAC output to connected devices. It is compatible with UPS units that can supply power via a NEMA L5-30P plug and have a load requirement within the 24A continuous rating. The 5x NEMA 5-20R outlets accommodate standard IT equipment power cords.

Installation Notes

The MBP30A5 supports multiple mounting configurations: 1U rackmount, 0U vertical rackmount, wallmount, and undercounter. It operates within a temperature range of 32-104°F (0-40°C) and 0-90% non-condensing humidity. The unit includes LED indicators for Normal (Green) and Bypass (Red) status, providing clear visual feedback on power routing. It meets UL60950_1, cUL, and RoHS standards.
