If you're expanding drive capacity or replacing a failed backplane in an existing SR530/SR630 chassis, this kit provides the drive interconnect infrastructure needed to bring eight additional 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives online. Dual-protocol support (SAS and SATA) means you can mix enterprise SAS drives alongside SATA SSDs or HDDs within the same bay configuration — useful when tiering storage workloads without committing to a single interface standard.
