Description

Lenovo 4XH7B08947 SR630 V4 1M Supercap Cable Kit

Overview

The Lenovo 4XH7B08947 is the 1-meter supercapacitor cable kit for the ThinkSystem SR630 V4 rack server — the routing cable that connects the RAID controller's supercapacitor backup unit (CacheVault flash) to the adapter itself. Without this cable in place, the supercap cannot charge or discharge to protect cached write data during an unexpected power loss. If you are replacing a failed cable, adding a RAID adapter to an existing SR630 V4, or reconfiguring the internal drive bay layout where cable routing changes, this kit provides the correct OEM-length cable and any retention hardware required for a clean, supported installation.

Compatibility

Designed for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 V4 platform. This cable kit is specific to the SR630 V4 chassis — it is not interchangeable with earlier SR630 or SR630 V2/V3 variants, which use different internal routing distances and connector placements. Confirm your server's machine type before ordering; the SR630 V4 machine types are documented in the Lenovo ServerProven compatibility database. Compatible RAID adapters and CacheVault modules are those supported under the SR630 V4 server components option list — specifically the ThinkSystem RAID adapters that require an external supercap cable rather than an onboard capacitor.

Installation Notes

Route the cable per the SR630 V4 hardware maintenance manual to avoid pinch points near the fan wall and drive backplane. The 1-meter length is sized for the supercap bracket mounting positions supported by the V4 chassis; do not substitute a shorter cable from another platform, as insufficient slack can stress the connector under thermal expansion. Handle the supercapacitor module carefully — discharge procedures defined in the service manual should be followed before disconnecting the existing cable on a powered-down system. No special tooling beyond a standard T10 Torx screwdriver is required for the bracket fasteners. Country of origin: Mexico.
