When expanding drive capacity or replacing damaged signal cabling in an SR650 V3 chassis, this kit provides the correct connectors, routing lengths, and locking tab geometry engineered for that specific backplane bay — eliminating the fitment guesswork that comes with generic SAS/SATA cables on a server with a tightly managed internal cable layout. At 2.00 lb, the kit includes the cabling needed to connect the BP2 backplane to the appropriate RAID or HBA controller interface, keeping your storage stack on a verified signal path rather than an improvised one.

Compatibility

Designed exclusively for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 V3 platform. Specifically targets the 2.5" Front Backplane 2 (BP2) slot — not interchangeable with BP1 or rear backplane positions in the same chassis, and not validated for use in the SR650 V2, SR630 V3, or other ThinkSystem rack servers.
