Overview

The Lenovo 4X97A82925 is a factory-configured cable kit that enables M.2 NVMe RAID connectivity within the Lenovo server platform. It provides the physical cabling required to wire two M.2 NVMe drives into a RAID configuration — a task that cannot be completed without the correct internal cable assembly. If you're provisioning an SR650 V3 with boot-drive redundancy or a mirrored OS volume, this kit is the enabling component. Without it, the M.2 bays remain single-drive, non-RAID capable regardless of controller configuration.

Compatibility

Designed specifically for the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 V3 rack server. The M.2 NVMe interface (PCIe) is specific to the SR650 V3's internal bay architecture — do not assume compatibility with earlier SR650 or SR650 V2 chassis, which use different internal routing and connector layouts. Confirm your server's machine type before ordering. This kit is not applicable to SAS/SATA M.2 configurations; it addresses NVMe (PCIe) signal paths only.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed inside the SR650 V3 chassis and requires removing the top cover per standard Lenovo service procedures.
