Description

Lenovo 4C57A82407 ST650 V3 2.5-Inch Anybay 8-Bay Backplane Kit

Overview

The 4C57A82407 is a drive backplane kit designed for the Lenovo ThinkSystem ST650 V3 tower server, adding an 8-bay 2.5-inch Anybay backplane assembly. Anybay architecture lets the same backplane slots accept SAS, SATA, or NVMe U.2 drives without separate interposers — useful when storage tiers will shift over the server's lifecycle or when mixed workloads demand different drive technologies in the same enclosure. At 10 lb, this is a structural bay kit, not a cable-only accessory; plan for mechanical clearance and appropriate handling during installation.

Compatibility

Designed for the Lenovo ThinkSystem ST650 V3 server storage accessories. The Anybay designation applies specifically to the ST650 V3 chassis — do not assume cross-compatibility with ST650 V2 or other ThinkSystem tower models, as backplane pinouts and mechanical mounting differ between generations. Verify the target server's configured drive bay slots and existing backplane count before ordering; the ST650 V3 supports multiple backplane configurations and slot assignments must align with the RAID adapter and cable routing already in place.

Installation Notes

This kit targets integrators expanding server-side storage capacity in ST650 V3 deployments. Anybay backplanes require matching Lenovo-specified signal cables for each drive protocol in use — SAS/SATA and NVMe U.2 use different cable runs to the HBA or RAID controller. Confirm cable kit compatibility separately; the backplane kit does not include signal cables unless explicitly stated in your order. Country of origin is Mexico (MX). UNSPSC code 43211600 (computer storage products) applies for procurement classification. Reference Lenovo's ThinkSystem component guides for torque specs and bay slot sequencing specific to the ST650 V3 chassis.
