Overview

The Lenovo 00MY807 is a hot-swap, 150W AC redundant power supply designed as a field-replaceable unit for the Lenovo B6505 (Brocade 6505) Fibre Channel SAN switch. Installing a second unit alongside the factory-installed supply gives the switch a 2+2 cooling and power redundancy configuration — meaning a single PSU or fan failure will not interrupt SAN fabric traffic. Each unit integrates two fans that provide non-port-to-port side airflow, keeping the thermal load isolated from your fiber cabling. The IEC 320-C14 input connector accepts 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz, making it compatible with standard PDU outlets in North American and international data center environments.

Compatibility

The 00MY807 is a direct replacement or redundancy expansion unit for the Lenovo B6505 SAN switch — also marketed as the Brocade 6505. It is not interchangeable with the B6510 power supply (a larger 24-port platform with higher maximum power draw). Before ordering, confirm your switch model is the B6505 (12-port licensed variant); the B6510 uses a separately sourced supply. This unit is compatible with the B6505 whether deployed as a standalone switch or in a 1U rack-mount configuration. The switch chassis supports up to two power supplies; only one is included at time of switch purchase, so the 00MY807 is the qualified add-on unit to achieve full redundancy.

Installation Notes

The 00MY807 is a hot-swap component — it can be inserted into the second PSU bay of a running B6505 without powering down the switch or interrupting SAN traffic. The supply draws a maximum of 150W and the B6505 chassis idles at 60W, peaks at 80W, so both supplies share a well-within-budget load under normal operation. Input voltage range is 100–240V AC; connect to a separate PDU circuit from the primary supply to achieve true power-path redundancy. Airflow direction is non-port-to-port (exhaust exits the non-port side), so confirm rack airflow orientation matches before seating the unit.
