Overview
The Pelco VS-L6Q-POLE-PWR-TAP-35FT is a 35-foot field power extension designed to deliver AC/DC power from ground-mounted or wall-mounted distribution to the L6Q license plate recognition camera mounted on poles or structures at distance. This accessory solves the common deployment constraint of insufficient onboard power buffering on extended pole installations where solar and battery alone cannot sustain 24/7 operation — the 35-foot run length is the standard reach needed in perimeter and parking-lot LPR installations. AC input accepts 100–277V, stepping down to supply the L6Q's internal battery and DC rail, extending operational uptime without additional solar panels or frequent battery swaps.
Compatibility
This power tap is engineered specifically for the Pelco L6Q rapid-deploy LPR camera system. It integrates via the L6Q's M12 connector and is compatible with the L6Q's swappable 12 Ah internal battery and AC/DC power modes. Do not use with other camera platforms without verifying M12 pinout compatibility.
Installation Notes
The tap ships with a mounting bracket and band straps for pole attachment. The 35-foot cable run requires planning for conduit routing or UV-resistant cable management to avoid sun damage in outdoor parking-lot and perimeter environments. Input voltage range 100–277V AC accommodates both standard US 120V and 277V three-phase circuits common in commercial and industrial campuses. The IP67-rated L6Q itself can withstand the tap's power delivery during rain and snow; however, ensure the power source outlet or breakout is protected with a weatherproof enclosure or GFCI protection if exposed to standing water or salt spray.
