Kantech ADVER30R5H3G 3U Hybrid Network Video Recorder
Overview
The Kantech ADVER30R5H3G is a 3U rackmount hybrid NVR engineered to run 32 analog camera channels alongside 32 IP camera channels simultaneously—or 64 pure IP if you drop the analog. Solves the real problem: you've invested in analog infrastructure (SDI, composite, BNC) and you're not ready to rip it all out. This recorder lets you record both streams on the same box, compress with H.264+ or H.265 (cutting storage footprint 40–60% depending on scene), and migrate IP gradually as budget allows. Built-in TrickleStore redundancy writes critical video to NAS when network goes down, so you don't lose evidence during connectivity loss.
Compatibility
The ADVER30R5H3G accepts analog video (32 channels via SDI, composite, or BNC) and IP cameras from any manufacturer supporting standard RTSP/ONVIF protocols. It runs VideoEdge OS (built on openSUSE Linux), so integration with third-party VMS platforms follows standard video server bridging patterns. The recorder's IP I/O module flexes for custom input/output workflows when you need to trigger external devices or ingest metadata streams from other security controllers.
Installation Notes
Dimensions are 48.3 cm W × 13 cm H × 61 cm D (standard 3U, 19-inch rack). Power requirement is 400W from 100–240VAC—confirm your rack PDU has dedicated capacity before install. Front-facing drives hot-swap without stopping recording, critical for 24/7 operations. Connect a CCTV monitor directly to the rear panel for real-time operator view; this bypasses the network stack and gives you failsafe surveillance when your LAN is congested or compromised. Audio inputs (32 available) support edge microphones if you're capturing incident sound. RS-232 serial port enables integration with legacy access-control systems or auxiliary devices that don't speak IP.
