Description

HID 1386LGSMH Isoprox II Proximity Access Card

Overview

The HID 1386LGSMH is an RF-programmable proximity access card designed as a cost-effective, durable credential for HID proximity reader installations. This Isoprox II card solves the credential supply problem in access control deployments where you need high-volume, reliable proximity cards without complex encoding equipment on-site. The card is wallet-sized, can be integrated into photo ID badge systems via external strap or clip, and carries no battery — meaning no replacement cycles and infinite operational life as long as the card remains physically intact.

Compatibility

The 1386LGSMH works with all HID proximity readers. It supports up to 85-bit formats and can encode over 137 billion unique codes, making it suitable for large enterprise access control systems. The card is HID format-native, so it integrates directly into existing HID PACS (Physical Access Control System) infrastructures without additional bridges or translation layers. Check your HID reader model documentation to confirm proximity card support — most HID proximity readers from the ProxPro and subsequent generations accept standard Isoprox II credentials.

Installation Notes

The 1386LGSMH requires no installation — it is a passive credential. Simply program the card using an RF programmer (sold separately) with the card number and desired ID format, then distribute to users. The card's read range is consistent across environmental conditions and unaffected by body shielding, keys, or coins in the same pocket, which reduces the likelihood of failed access attempts in real-world conditions. For high-volume deployments, HID supplies a cross-reference list correlating external card numbers to programmed ID numbers to simplify system administration and audit trails.
