i-PRO WJ-NX400KG 64-Channel Network Video Recorder
Overview
The WJ-NX400KG is a 64-channel embedded NVR for large-scale surveillance deployments requiring a PC-less recorder. It supports up to 128 cameras via ONVIF and i-PRO native streams, handling H.265 and H.264 compression to reduce storage overhead while recording 4K-capable resolutions. Default provisioning is 64 channels; expansion to 128 requires configuration. This model is discontinued—i-PRO has transitioned to the WJ-NX410K, WJ-NX410KG, WJ-NX510K, and WJ-NX510KG successor lines. If you operate existing WJ-NX400KG units or maintain legacy systems, this reference covers core specifications and integration pathways.
Compatibility
The WJ-NX400KG integrates i-PRO series IP cameras and any ONVIF NVT-conformant encoder or camera. Supported resolutions span 4:3 (up to 4000×3000), 16:9 (up to 3840×2160 4K), 1:1, and 9:16 aspect ratios, accommodating 12MP and 4K sensors. Pan/Tilt control, zoom, focus, brightness adjustment, and up to 256 preset positions are available for compatible PTZ units. Audio conforms to G.711 (ONVIF) and G.726 ADPCM at 32 kbps. Sub-stream recording is fixed at 768 kbps for redundancy or secondary monitoring paths. The unit supports 16 independent recording programs across 3 daily time zones per weekday, with pre-alarm capture storing up to 15 seconds when camera bitrate is below 3 Mbps.
Installation Notes
Physical dimensions are 430 mm (W) × 132 mm (H) × 400 mm (D)—plan rack or shelf mounting accordingly. The unit provides 32 alarm inputs, 4 alarm reset inputs, and RCA-pin audio output (-10 dBv, 600 Ω unbalanced). Configure recording in event-driven, scheduled, or emergency modes. Main monitor supports 4, 9, 16 split-screen or wide-view layouts up to 64 channels; sub-monitor supports up to 32 channels. Playback includes forward, reverse, frame-by-frame, and timeline search by time/date or motion detection (VMD). Frame rate depends on camera delivery speed; up to 60 fps per camera when network and codec allow.
