Overview
The HPE P89997-005 is a 1U rack-mount general-purpose server built on the ProLiant DL360 Gen12 platform. It ships with a single Intel Xeon 6507P processor (8-core, 3.50 GHz base, LGA 4710 socket) and 64 GB of DDR5 ECC RAM (2x32 GB at 6400 MT/s) — enough headroom for VMS workloads, enterprise application stacks, or compute-dense VM consolidation in a 1U footprint. At 67.70 lb and 39.29 x 23.62 x 10.75 in, plan rack space and rail load ratings before deployment. Storage is handled by an HPE NS204i-u v2 480 GB NVMe boot device paired with 2x480 GB SATA SSDs, keeping OS and data I/O on separate paths. The HPE MR408i-o Gen11 storage controller (4 GB cache, x8 lanes, OCP SPDM) manages the SFF drive bays. Dual HPE 1000W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug power supplies provide redundant power delivery — a hard requirement in any environment where unplanned downtime is unacceptable. Network I/O comes from a Broadcom BCM5719 4-port 1GbE BASE-T OCP3 adapter. Expansion headroom includes up to 3x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots and 2x OCP 3.0 x16 slots for future NIC, HBA, or accelerator cards. Security is enforced at the silicon level: UEFI Secure Boot, Secure Start, Intel SGX support, and an Immutable Silicon Root of Trust are built in — no optional add-on needed. Five hot-swap standard fans maintain airflow; all are field-replaceable without powering down.
Compatibility
This server is part of the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen12 series (G12). It is compatible with standard 19-inch EIA rack enclosures using HPE-supplied rail kits (sold separately). The OCP 3.0 mezzanine slots accept OCP 3.0-compliant network adapters. PCIe Gen5 cards (x16 form factor) are compatible with all three expansion slots. Memory is DDR5 RDIMM; non-DDR5 or unbuffered DIMMs are not supported. Installation Notes
Chassis weight of 67.70 lb requires two-person rack mounting — do not attempt solo. Confirm rack depth accommodates 39.29 in (server body only; add cable management clearance). Both power supplies must be connected to separate PDU feeds for true redundancy. The NS204i-u v2 boot device is hot-plug capable but should be configured in the UEFI before OS installation. UEFI Secure Boot is enabled by default; unsigned option ROMs will be blocked unless policy is adjusted in BIOS.
