Overview
The HPE 455886-B21 is a 10Gbps SFP+ Long Reach (LR) transceiver module designed to extend network connectivity over single-mode fiber. It enables reliable data transmission up to 10 kilometers, making it suitable for inter-building links or connecting distant network closets within enterprise data centers. This module utilizes a standard LC connector for fiber termination and supports hot-plugging for non-disruptive installation.
Compatibility
This SFP+ module is engineered for HPE networking infrastructure. It is compatible with HPE BladeSystem c-Class servers and specific network interface cards including the 562SFP+, 560SFP+, and 537SFP+. It also supports HPE SimpliVity 380 systems, ensuring seamless integration within these HPE environments.
Installation Notes
The module features a 1310nm wavelength for 10GBASE-LR operation. Ensure the connected fiber optic cable is single-mode fiber (SMF) and terminates with an LC connector. The hot-pluggable design allows for insertion or removal while the host system is powered on, simplifying maintenance and upgrades without requiring system downtime.
