Panduit CMPH1 Open-Access Horizontal Dual-Sided Cable Manager
The Panduit CMPH1 delivers front-and-rear cable routing in a single rack unit for datacenter, server room, and AV installations where power, coaxial, and Cat6/fiber bundles converge. Dual D-ring design—3-inch depth front, 5-inch depth rear—lets you separate upstream backbone from downstream device connections without cross-interference or bundle sag. Modular plastic snap-in rings on a welded steel chassis combine 12 lb load capacity with tool-free reconfiguration: pull a ring, reroute the run, snap it back. Open-Access architecture exposes cable paths from both sides of the rack, cutting adds-moves-changes from a ten-minute pull-and-replug to a thirty-second lift-and-drop.
Key Features
- Dual-sided D-ring layout — front 3 in, rear 5 in depth partitions let you stage device pigtails separately from trunk feeds, preventing accidental disconnects during MACs
- 1RU footprint, 19-inch EIA-483 mm mount — installs in any standard telecoms rack, four-post server cabinet, or open-frame relay; consumes one vertical U for complete horizontal management
- Steel frame, snap-in plastic D-rings — welded 16-gauge backbone resists torque; thermoplastic rings slide on/off without screws, so you reconfigure loop count mid-deployment
- Open-access side exposure — no hinged cover or latch—reach in from aisle or rear hot-aisle, trace any run by eye, pull slack without unracking adjacent gear
- Black powder-coat finish, RoHS 3 compliant — matches standard rack aesthetics; cadmium/lead-free construction clears federal procurement and EU import requirements
Why dual-sided matters in converged racks. Single-depth managers force power, data, and coax into one horizontal bundle, creating a rat's nest where tracing a failed link means peeling twenty cables apart. The CMPH1's front-to-rear split mirrors your logical flow: shallow front D-rings catch 6-inch device jumpers and SFP DACs; deep rear rings hold trunk bundles and AC whips entering from the cabinet roof or floor. When you commission a new switch or replace a failed PSU, you work in the front D-ring only—backend infrastructure stays untouched. In high-churn environments—MSP colos, integrator test labs, building-automation head-ends—that segregation cuts troubleshooting time in half and eliminates the "which cable?" guess that breaks SLAs.
Deployment and integration. Mount between every three to five rack units of active gear—NVRs, PoE switches, KVM drawers, UPS shelves—to capture slack before it droops across intake vents or snags on a sliding rail. The 8.6-inch total depth (frame plus rear D-ring) fits shallow 24-inch telecom racks and deep 42-inch server cabinets alike; no interference with square-hole, round-hole, or threaded EIA rails. Plastic D-rings ship pre-installed but slide off their steel track in seconds: if a six-ring layout leaves gaps, redistribute four rings to the front and two to the rear, or vice versa, without hardware or cage nuts. Pair with Panduit vertical managers on the cabinet sides for a complete pathway that routes bundles down the frame, across the CMPH1 horizontal, and into patch panels or device rear ports with zero unsupported span.
Designed for EIA/TIA-569 structured cabling and ANSI/NECA/BICSI-568 pathways and spaces compliance, the CMPH1 meets horizontal support density requirements in TIA-942 datacenters, NFPA 70 (NEC Article 800) cable-support intervals, and DoD UFC 3-580-01 telecom room standards. RoHS 3 certification (EU 2015/863) clears hazardous-substance restrictions for federal GSA Schedule and NDAA-compliant government integrations.
