The 5819S is a wireless shock sensor and transmitter designed to integrate with Honeywell 5800 Series alarm systems. It combines a door/window reed switch with an omni-directional shock sensor to detect both perimeter breaches and impact events (window breaking, forced entry attempts) within a typical 6–8 foot coverage radius. The device operates across three independent configurable zones: Loop 1 (shock sensor), Loop 2 (reed switch with included magnet), and Loop 3 (external wired contact). This multi-loop design lets you assign each zone its own alarm panel input, or combine Loop 1 and Loop 2 reporting to a single supervised RF zone via DIP switch configuration.
The 5819S is engineered for Honeywell 5800 Series wireless devices and compatible control panels that support 5800 Series RF transmission. Verify your panel's 5800 Series support before deployment—the device requires enrollment as Input Type 3 (Supervised RF) and a compatible RF receiver module in your control system. The included magnet pairs with Loop 2 for standard door/window position sensing; the shock sensor (Loop 1) operates independently and requires no magnet. External wiring to Loop 3 allows integration of hardwired contacts (e.g., existing glass-break sensors or door strikes) into the wireless transmission chain.
Install the included battery before enrollment; all DIP switches default to OFF (highest sensitivity). Adjust shock sensitivity via DIP switches 1–3 after testing—typical installations start at "Most Sensitive" (all OFF) and step down if false alarms occur on the specific mounting surface. Coverage area varies by mounting surface material and orientation; dense materials (concrete, masonry) support full 6–8 foot radius, while lightweight surfaces may reduce effective range. Operating temperature range is 14–131°F (−10–55°C) with agency compliance verified at 32–120°F (0–49°C). Do not recharge the battery or expose to heat above 212°F. Mount the magnet 1/2 inch from the reed switch for reliable position detection on doors or windows.
