Description

Honeywell WAVE2PD Piezo Dynamic Two-Tone Siren

Overview

The WAVE2PD is a piezo dynamic siren designed for residential alarm panel integration where you need to add audible notification without straining your control panel's power budget. It produces 105dB output at 1 meter using piezo technology that draws roughly 120mA at 12VDC—one-quarter the current of traditional electromagnetic sirens. This low current draw lets you install multiple sirens on the same alarm panel circuit without requiring additional power hardware or labor. Two selectable tones (steady and warble) handle standard notification requirements. The siren is UL-listed and globally compliant, making it suitable for residential deployments across multiple markets.

Compatibility

The WAVE2PD is compatible with Honeywell LYNX control panel families and integrates into any 12VDC alarm system wired terminal block. Tamper-protected variant (WAVE2PDT) is available if your specification requires tamper monitoring. Standard non-tamper version (WAVE2PD) suits installations where tamper detection is not a requirement.

Installation Notes

Mounting uses hinged case cover with elliptical holes for flexible bracket placement. The large wiring channel accommodates typical 14–16 gauge alarm panel wire without splicing or crimping—wire directly to the easy-to-wire terminal block. Lightweight ABS plastic case (less than half the weight of standard sirens) reduces structural load on mount hardware. Enclosed PCB protects internal components from dust and moisture. Verify your panel's 12VDC output rating can handle the 120mA draw plus any other connected devices.
