Description

Honeywell 747PD Piezo Dynamic Indoor Siren

Overview

The Honeywell 747PD is a 105dB piezo dynamic siren designed for indoor residential and light commercial alarm applications. It solves the typical problem of siren current draw limiting how many devices you can wire to a single alarm panel — the 747PD draws only 120mA, roughly one-quarter the current of standard electromagnetic sirens. This means you can install multiple sirens across basements, garages, hallways, and auxiliary spaces without upgrading power supplies or panel hardware. The lightweight ABS plastic housing (less than half the weight of conventional sirens) mounts via hinged case cover with elliptical holes, and an enclosed PCB protects internal components from dust and moisture ingress.

Compatibility

The 747PD is compatible with Honeywell LYNX control panel series. It operates at 12VDC and uses a standard easy-to-wire terminal block connector, eliminating the need for crimped or spliced wire. Verify your specific LYNX panel model supports siren expansion before ordering; consult your panel documentation or contact technical support for panel-specific confirmation.

Installation Notes

The 747PD requires 12VDC operation at 120mA maximum current draw. The hinged case cover simplifies internal wiring and component access. Large wiring channel accommodates standard alarm cable without strain. Mount using the elliptical holes on the rear face. Ensure your power supply and alarm panel siren output circuit can deliver 12VDC at 120mA continuously; low-current design means you can parallel multiple sirens on the same output without exceeding panel ratings. Operate only in indoor environments protected from direct moisture and extreme temperature extremes.
