Overview
The Viking E-30 is a telephone-line-powered handsfree speaker phone with autodialer, built for harsh entry-point environments where a standard intercom would fail — loading docks, parking structures, exterior building entries, and industrial facilities. The E-30 ships with a rough-in box for flush mounting directly into a wall or door jamb, eliminating the need for a separate electrical box in most new-construction or retrofit applications. The faceplate is 14-gauge 316 brushed stainless steel with permanent laser-etched graphics, rated for impact and corrosion resistance significantly beyond standard 304-grade stainless — the right material choice for coastal installs or high-wash-down environments where surface oxidation is a recurring problem.
Compatibility
The E-30 operates on standard POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) analog telephone lines — it is not compatible with VoIP or SIP systems without an ATA adapter. It requires a minimum 24V DC talk battery, 20mA loop current, and 25VAC RMS ring voltage, which standard CO lines and most on-premise PBX analog ports supply natively.
