Description

Geovision 81-LSH01-001 Electromagnetic Lock

Overview

The Geovision 81-LSH01-001 (GV-ML600) is a 12VDC electromagnetic lock assembly with integrated voltage spike suppression, designed for door access control installations where power transients pose a risk to lock reliability. The built-in suppressor protects the lock coil from voltage spikes and surge damage — a common failure mode in commercial environments running high-current switching devices like HVAC systems, lighting controls, or motor starters on the same electrical infrastructure. Deploy this lock where standard electromagnetic locks have experienced premature failure, or where your access control panel lacks integral surge protection.

Compatibility

The 81-LSH01-001 integrates with Geovision access control systems and third-party door control panels that supply 12VDC electromagnetic lock power. This unit serves as a direct replacement for the GV-ML600 in existing Geovision installations. Before ordering, verify your control panel's output voltage and current rating — undersized panels will not hold the lock reliably under load.

Installation Notes

Mount the lock on the door frame or header per door manufacturer and ADA requirements. The built-in suppressor eliminates the need for external transient suppression diodes, reducing wiring complexity. Secure mounting hardware according to door frame material (wood, metal, concrete) using appropriate anchors to handle holding force. Route wiring away from high-current circuits and motor runs to minimize inductive coupling and noise injection. Test lock engagement under load before final commissioning to verify the door holds against normal push force.
