Overview
The ELK-6030 is a wireless PIR motion detector built for two-way communication with ELK security control panels and compatible access control systems. This is a sensor accessory — it pairs with your existing hardwired or networked security backbone to add motion detection capability without running new conduit. Use it to monitor interior zones (hallways, server rooms, storage areas) or as an adjunct alarm trigger in door-entry scenarios where you need motion-aware arming.
Compatibility
The ELK-6030 integrates with ELK M1, M1G, RP2, and related control panel families that support two-way wireless zone modules. Confirm your panel firmware version supports wireless zone enrollment before installation — older firmware may require updates. Works with standard ELK wireless receivers and repeaters used across their access control and alarm ecosystem.
Installation Notes
Mount the sensor 5–7 feet high on an interior wall or corner for optimal PIR coverage. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and airflow vents — false alarms increase if the unit sees moving warm air patterns. Wireless transmission range is approximately 100 feet line-of-sight indoors; obstacles and RF interference degrade actual range. Test enrollment and signal strength during commissioning before final panel programming.
