ELK Products ELK-M1KPNAV Navigator Touchscreen Keypad
Overview
The ELK-M1KPNAV is a touchscreen keypad designed to integrate with ELK M1 control panels, providing a visual interface for system arming, disarming, and zone status monitoring. Unlike hardwired keypads, the Navigator delivers real-time feedback and menu-driven control, reducing training time for end users and integrators managing multi-zone residential or small commercial installations.
Compatibility
The ELK-M1KPNAV pairs directly with ELK M1 control panel series, including the M1 Gold and M1 EZ8. It communicates via the M1's dedicated keypad bus (ELK protocol), requiring no separate network infrastructure or IP configuration. The keypad can coexist with hardwired keypads on the same system—useful when retrofitting touch control into existing M1 installations without removing legacy keypads.
Installation Notes
The Navigator connects to the M1 keypad terminal block using two-conductor shielded cable (typically Cat5e run in conduit for noise immunity). Cable runs up to 500 feet are supported, though longer runs may require repeaters in noisy industrial environments. Power is drawn directly from the M1 panel (12V or 24V depending on configuration), eliminating the need for a separate supply at the keypad location. Mounting hardware allows wall surface or recessed installation; consult the M1 panel documentation for proper address configuration of the new keypad.
