Description

ATEN KA7166 DVI USB VM KVM Adapter

Overview

The ATEN KA7166 is a Virtual Media KVM adapter designed to extend DVI-D video and USB keyboard/mouse signals from a remote computer to a KVM switch. This unit is critical for remote server management in rack-mounted environments where direct access to the server's console ports is impractical. It effectively bridges the gap between your KVM switch and the server's video and USB interfaces, enabling console access for tasks like BIOS-level management, OS installation, and troubleshooting. The KA7166 model specifically supports DVI-D video and USB 2.0 connectivity.

Compatibility

This adapter is engineered to interface with ATEN's range of KVM switches that support Virtual Media and USB connectivity. It connects to the remote computer via DVI-D for video and dual USB Type-A connectors for keyboard and mouse emulation. It is designed for use with servers and computers equipped with DVI-D video outputs and USB ports.

Installation Notes

The adapter requires power, indicated by an orange LED. Storage temperature must be maintained between -20°C and 60°C to prevent damage to internal components during non-operational periods.
