Description

QNAP QXG-10G2SF-X710 Dual-Port 10GbE SFP+ Network Expansion Card

Overview

The QXG-10G2SF-X710 is a dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ network expansion card built to upgrade QNAP NAS units and Windows PCs from 1GbE to full 10G throughput without replacing the host device. If your current NAS bottlenecks multi-user file transfers, surveillance recording streams, or backup jobs at gigabit speeds, installing the QXG-10G2SF-X710 directly addresses the constraint — two independent 10G/1G SFP+ ports give you either dual uplink aggregation or separate network segment connections from a single card slot. The PCIe Gen 3 x8 interface delivers enough bus bandwidth to run both ports at line rate simultaneously, so you won't trade one bottleneck for another. Low-profile form factor fits both standard and compact PCIe chassis without a bracket swap on most compatible QNAP enclosures.

Compatibility

Installs in QNAP NAS models with an available PCIe Gen 3 x8 (or wider) slot — including the TVS-h series (TVS-h874, TVS-h1288X), TS-x73A series, TES series, and enterprise tower/rackmount units with PCIe expansion bays. Also compatible with Windows PCs carrying a PCIe Gen 3 x8 or x16 slot. SFP+ ports accept standard 10GBASE-SR/LR optical transceivers and DAC/AOC cables for direct-attach runs to 10GbE switches or other SFP+ endpoints — confirm transceiver compatibility with QNAP's published QXG-10G2SF-X710 compatibility list before purchasing optics. Not compatible with PCIe Gen 2 or x4-only slots at full 10G line rate; verify your NAS model's PCIe slot specification in its hardware manual before ordering. Supports both 10G and 1G link speeds per port, so connecting to a mixed-speed network switch is straightforward without additional hardware.

Installation Notes

Power down and unplug the NAS or PC completely before seating the card — hot-plug is not supported on PCIe expansion slots. The low-profile bracket is pre-installed; full-height bracket availability varies by QNAP enclosure model, so check your chassis documentation. Driver installation on Windows requires the Intel X710 driver package. On QNAP NAS systems running QTS or QuTS hero, the card is recognized automatically after reboot with no manual driver steps required on supported firmware versions.
