Description

QNAP QXG-10G2SF-NXE Dual-Port 10GbE SFP+ Network Expansion Card

Overview

The QXG-10G2SF-NXE is a PCIe network expansion card that adds two SFP+ ports — each capable of 10GbE or 1G — to compatible QNAP NAS enclosures and systems. Built around the Broadcom BCM57412 controller, it is the right choice when your current onboard NICs are the bottleneck on a high-density NAS handling simultaneous backup, video surveillance storage, or multi-user access workloads. Adding the QXG-10G2SF-NXE lets you push 10G fiber or direct-attach copper runs to your core switch without swapping the NAS itself. Explore the full QNAP product catalog for compatible NAS platforms and accessories.

Compatibility

Designed for QNAP NAS models with an available PCIe expansion slot — including the TVS-h series, TS-x73A, TS-x77, TS-x83XU, and TS-x86 families that expose a Gen 2 or Gen 3 x4 or wider slot. Also compatible with select QNAP QXP expansion units. Connector type is SFP+, so it pairs with standard 10GBASE-SR/LR transceivers and 10G DAC cables already in your infrastructure. Not compatible with QNAP units that accept only M.2 or USB expansions, or with non-PCIe-slot enclosures. If your environment is a mix of 10G NAS and network switches, verify your switch has open SFP+ ports before ordering. For storage-heavy deployments running network attached storage, this card eliminates the 1G bottleneck that throttles multi-camera or multi-user throughput.

Installation Notes

The card measures 4.33 × 0.72 × 2.71 inches — a low-profile form factor. Confirm slot clearance inside your NAS chassis before installation, particularly in 1U rackmount models where adjacent drives or backplane connectors can restrict card height. Power is drawn entirely from the PCIe slot; no supplemental power connector is required. QNAP's expansion card installation guide recommends powering the NAS down fully and grounding yourself before seating the card. SFP+ transceivers and DAC cables are sold separately — the card ships without optics.
