Comelit EX-DSQE Doorbell Camera Expansion Kit
Overview
The Comelit EX-DSQE is a doorbell camera add-on kit designed to expand 2-wire digital video intercom systems with a second external camera unit. It pairs an EX-DSME external unit (die-cast aluminum faceplate, color camera with single LED for night-time lighting, mechanical call buttons configurable for 1–4 zones via DIP switch) with a 1405 video splitter that handles audio/video switching across the 2-wire bus. Use this when you need a second entrance or building exit monitored alongside your primary doorbell without rewiring.
Compatibility
The EX-DSQE kit is compatible with Comelit HFX-70200M, HFX-7000MW, HFX-8000M, and HFX-9000M intercom systems only. Verify your master unit model before ordering — this kit does not work with other brands or non-2-wire digital Comelit systems. The 1405 video splitter enables connection of one additional EX-DSME unit to your existing main door station.
Installation Notes
Power and video both route via the 2-wire bus line — no separate power supply needed at the external unit. The EX-DSME mounts to standard doorframe or wall surfaces typical of commercial or residential entry gates. Button configuration is set via DIP switches on the external unit itself; consult your system manual for zone-to-switch mapping. The 1405 splitter module occupies 2 DIN positions in your main cabinet and must be installed before expanding beyond the primary door station.
