Description

CyberPower CP685AVRG Compact Descriptor

Overview

The CyberPower CP685AVRG is a compact, line-interactive Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) designed to provide essential battery backup and surge protection for sensitive electronics. This unit is ideal for safeguarding network equipment, workstations, or critical components in a surveillance setup, ensuring continuous operation during brief power fluctuations or outages. Its 685 VA / 390 W capacity and 1030 Joule surge suppression rating offer reliable protection for up to four devices simultaneously, with four additional surge-only outlets available. The CP685AVRG features GreenPower UPS™ Bypass Technology for energy efficiency and is Energy Star Certified.

Compatibility

This UPS is suitable for protecting a wide range of standard IT and surveillance equipment that draws up to 390W. It is compatible with devices utilizing NEMA 5-15P input plugs and operates within a 90-140 VAC input range. Specific compatible systems include standard desktop computers, network switches, routers, and entry-level network video recorders (NVRs) or digital video recorders (DVRs) that do not exceed its power output. It is not designed for high-draw equipment like servers, large industrial machinery, or medical devices.

Installation Notes

The CP685AVRG features a compact form factor with keyhole mounting slots for flexible installation. It includes a 6 ft (1.8 m) power cord terminating in a NEMA 5-15P plug. The unit operates within an ambient temperature range of 32–95 °F (0–35 °C). For optimal performance and battery longevity, ensure the unit is placed in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources. The user-replaceable battery (RB1270B or RB1280) can be swapped without powering down connected equipment, though the UPS itself is not hot-swappable. Typical recharge time is 8 hours.
