Overview

The DW-COVA1616T is a 16-channel PoE-powered network video recorder designed for mid-scale deployments where you need integrated storage, native PoE delivery, and cloud-optimized compression in a single 1RU appliance. This is your choice when you're running a warehouse, retail chain, or campus with 16 or fewer cameras and want to avoid separate PoE switches and external power infrastructure—the recorder itself sources all 16 channels' power through integrated PoE ports. Supports up to 16MP resolution per channel and ships with 16TB internal HDD for continuous 24/7 recording across all ports.

Compatibility

The DW-COVA1616T works with any standard ONVIF-compliant IP camera. No proprietary camera requirement. The 16 PoE ports deliver up to 25.5W per port, which covers most fixed and PTZ cameras in the 5–12MP range; verify individual camera power draw against this budget if deploying high-wattage PTZ or illuminator-equipped units. The single 1G Ethernet uplink (RJ45) connects to your network backbone or VMS; do not expect 192Mbps aggregate throughput on the WAN side—that's the internal backplane figure. At 16 simultaneous 4K streams, your network uplink will saturate; plan for selective recording or cloud offload if remote viewing is a priority.

Installation Notes

Requires DC 48V/3.75A external power supply (not included). Draws up to 20W without HDD and PoE power supply load; add camera power consumption to total site budget. Operating temperature range is 14–122°F (−10–50°C); do not install in uninsulated outdoor cabinets in cold climates without thermal management. Mount in a standard 19-inch rack or on a shelf with 1.77 inches of vertical clearance. Allow airflow around rear panel for HDD cooling.
