Overview

The CBS-ERK-28R is a heavy-duty caster base designed to add mobility to Middle Atlantic ERK series open-frame racks at 28-inch depth. When you're rolling a fully loaded rack between a staging area and its final install position — or repositioning equipment in a broadcast, AV, or surveillance head-end room — this base eliminates the need to partially disassemble the rack. At 4 inches tall, it adds minimal height overhead. The black wrinkle powder coat finish matches ERK rack aesthetics and holds up in working equipment rooms without looking like an afterthought.

Compatibility

The CBS-ERK-28R is built specifically for the Middle Atlantic ERK series open-frame rack line at 28-inch depth. It is not a universal fit — confirm your ERK rack is the 28-inch depth variant before ordering. It is not compatible with Middle Atlantic WRK, BGR, or enclosed rack cabinet series, which use their own dedicated base products. For 21-inch or 36-inch depth ERK configurations, Middle Atlantic offers equivalent CBS-ERK bases in those depths; substituting a mismatched depth base will result in incorrect footprint alignment and may compromise stability under load.

Installation Notes

The CBS-ERK-28R carries a UL-rated load capacity of 400 lbs — the figure to use for code-compliance and seismic zone planning. The total weight capacity listed at 700 lbs reflects the structural limit of the base itself; in practice, the 400 lb UL figure governs. The base ships at 20.5 lbs, so factor that into total rack weight calculations when floor load limits are a concern.
