Camden CX-EPD1289-SPC 1/8" Spacer Plate
Overview
The CX-EPD1289-SPC is a 1/8" stainless steel spacer plate designed for the Camden CX-EPD1289L surface mount RIM strike. Deploy it when standard door frame geometry creates a gap between the strike body and the door jamb — a common scenario in retrofit installations or where frame thickness deviates from nominal. The spacer closes that gap and ensures the strike latch mechanism seats correctly against the keeper, maintaining the 1,500 lbs. static strength rating and preload performance the strike is designed for. Without proper spacing, door misalignment or air pressure can cause the strike to fail to release when it should.
Compatibility
This spacer is compatible exclusively with the Camden CX-EPD1289L surface mount RIM strike (standard stainless or all-black finish). It integrates with any access control system that supports 12/24V AC/DC electromagnetic strikes, including networked panels, wireless door controllers, and traditional hardwired access control architectures. Verify your door frame thickness before ordering — the 1/8" spacing is additive, so measure the existing gap between strike mounting surface and jamb face.
Installation Notes
The spacer is a passive metal plate with no electrical components. Install it between the strike body and the mounting surface (door jamb or frame reinforcement) using the same fasteners supplied with the CX-EPD1289L. Ensure the latch projection (3/4") clears the keeper on the door frame after the spacer is installed — frame depth or keeper position changes may require adjustment. The strike includes a metal mounting jig for alignment; use it to verify the spacer does not obstruct latch travel before final torque. No power draw or wiring modifications required.
