The GL-CR-CRP8 is an 8-inch cable retaining post designed for use with Vertiv Geist cable runway systems. Where cable bundles tend to migrate laterally or shift under load — especially on overhead horizontal runway runs — retaining posts lock them in place and keep pathways organized without relying on cable ties alone. The 8-inch height (versus the 4-inch GL-CR-CRP4 variant) accommodates deeper cable stacks, making it the right choice when routing multiple high-density copper or fiber bundles on a single runway segment.

Compatibility

The GL-CR-CRP8 is designed for the Vertiv Geist cable runway ecosystem. Compatible runway products and accessories within this system include the UCR-HRS series hanging racks (2, 4, and 6 RMU), VRX-45U variable-depth 4-post racks, CMR-45U and CMRX-45U cable management racks, and GL36WDX wall-mount enclosures. It pairs with other Geist cable runway hardware including the GL-CR-BSK butt splice kit, GL-CR-JSK junction splice kit, GL-CR-VWB vertical wall bracket, GL-CR-VSB vertical support bracket, GL-CR-SHBK slotted hanger bracket kit, and GL-CR-TSB6 triangular support bracket. For narrower cable stacks, the 4-inch variant GL-CR-CRP4 is the alternative within the same product line.

Installation Notes

Install alongside complementary Geist runway accessories such as the GL-SPLKT sweep and bend splicing package and GL-BAR-SPLICE bonding splice fittings when building out segmented runway runs. The GL-CR-EC vinyl end cap should be applied at open runway terminations to protect cable jacket from abrasion at cut edges. Confirm runway width and cable fill depth before selecting between the 4-inch and 8-inch post — undersizing the post height allows cable bundles to clear the post under flex load, defeating its purpose.
