Overview

The GL-CR1810 is a 10-foot-long, 18-inch-wide open cable runway from Vertiv's rack and cable management line, designed for overhead or under-floor cable routing in data center rows, server rooms, and structured cabling environments. At 18 inches wide, it accommodates high-density copper and fiber bundles between racks without the airflow restrictions of enclosed cable trays — keeping cable organized and accessible for moves, adds, and changes without disrupting active runs. The GL-CR1810 integrates into Vertiv's modular runway ecosystem, where accessory hardware handles corners, splices, drops, and wall terminations rather than requiring field fabrication.

Compatibility

The GL-CR1810 is designed to work within Vertiv's GL-series cable runway system. Compatible support and transition hardware includes:

  • GL-CR-VWB: Vertical wall bracket (kit of 2) — anchors runway to wall at row ends.
  • GL-CR-VSB: Vertical support bracket — intermediate span support for longer runs.
  • GL-CR-BSK: Butt splice kit (zinc plated, 4 splice plates + hardware) — joins two runway segments end-to-end in a straight run.
  • GL-CR-JSK: Junction splice kit (zinc plated, 4 splice plates + hardware) — used at T- or cross-junction intersections.
  • GL-Corner-Splice: Wiremesh runway tree and 90-degree bend kit (zinc plated) — routes runway around corners without cutting.
  • GL-CR-TSB6: Triangular support bracket, 6-inch wide — ceiling-drop support point.
  • GL-CR-SHBK: 1.50-inch slotted hanger bracket kit — threaded rod suspension for overhead runs.
  • GL-CR-CRP4 / GL-CR-CRP8: Cable retaining posts (4-inch and 8-inch) — prevent bundle sag and keep cables within the runway width.
  • GL-CR-EC: Vinyl end cap — closes open runway ends cleanly at termination points.
  • GL-WBT-CD: Cable tray dropout cabling bend radius device (7.75-inch wide, zinc plated) — protects cable bend radius at drops to rack top-of-unit entry points.
  • GL-CR-WTK6: Wall termination kit, 6-inch wide — finishes the runway-to-wall transition.

This runway also pairs with Vertiv's VRX-45U and CMR/CMRX cable management racks, as well as GL36WDX wall-mount and GL24SRD swing-rack enclosures, providing a continuous cable path from overhead runway into rack top-entry. For PoE infrastructure feeding cameras or access control hardware, pairing with a managed PoE switch inside an adjacent rack completes the structured cabling run.

Installation Notes

Runway segments connect using the GL-CR-BSK butt splice kit or GL-CR-JSK junction splice kit — both zinc plated for corrosion resistance in typical conditioned spaces. Overhead suspension uses the GL-CR-SHBK slotted hanger bracket with standard threaded rod (rod and ceiling anchors sourced separately). The GL-Bar-Splice fitting (package of 50) provides a UL-listed bonding connection between tray segments where electrical continuity is required by code. The GL-WBT-RCS2 and GL-WBT-RCS4 radius corner splices (2-inch and 4-inch) offer controlled-radius transitions for fiber-sensitive runs where sharp 90-degree bends are not acceptable. Mount orientation options include ceiling-suspended, wall-bracket-supported, and corner configurations using the available accessory kit lineup.
